Houchin Family Alpacas began with a dream to find some property and move to the country. In the midst of this search we also found alpacas. Although the original plan was to start slowly, we found and purchased a 6-acre farm with 12 alpacas.

For the past ten years, we have been very busy on the farm working hard to make the correct decisions to advance our herd genetically. We have sold all of our original herd and have selectively acquired our new elite foundation herd, allowing us to advance the national herd. We love showing our animals to visitors and talking about the wonderful advantages of owning alpacas.

All of our animals are cared for by our children so they get a lot of love and attention. Being a small farm, we are able to have daily interaction with all of the animals. We have spent a lot of time researching and learning how to properly care for our alpacas.

We offer full customer support for all of our customers, and we would love to teach new owners what we have learned. We run all of our own fecal samples (to detect parasites), draw blood when necessary, administer monthly shots, and perform other herd health procedures as needed. We can teach you as little or as much as you want to know.
